Heavenly Hammer

I saw a big hammer come down out of heaven
to smash a HUGE lie

The following verses have many convinced they are no good and that people are born into the original sin of Adam…

These lead people to believe –
I was born in sin and my heart is deceitful!
THIS IS A LIE!

The truth is that God knit you together in your mother’s womb and calls you good!

The physical death of Jesus Christ redeemed you from the original sin of Adam. His death cancelled out the original sin as if it had NEVER happened! You were not born in sin! You are a beautifully made creature of the same hand that created the entire universe. This is true whether you believe in God or not. The One True God redeemed ALL of mankind. Nothing – ABSOLUTELY NOTHING God creates is bad, sinful, or deceitful! STOP believing this about yourself.

I am crucified with Christ (Gal 2:20) and Christ was crucified before the foundation of the world (Heb 9:26 & Rev 13:8). Which means the head of satan was crushed since the beginning of time. The only way our human minds can reconcile this is to imagine this narrative from God’s perspective where time does not exist. Jesus Christ put away sin before the original sin was committed.

Let’s look at the context of the verses from Jeremiah and Psalms quoted above.

“Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me” (Psa 51:5)

Psalm 51 is an outpouring of David’s cry to God after a grave sin that he committed against God. This is a prayer of the discovery of his sin and repentance. His sin was so horrible that he felt it ruled over his entire life on earth. Verse 5 starts with “surely” – meaning that it is a statement that he has convinced himself of, but not entirely believing it to be true. This statement was coming from his emotions, not God’s truth. David follows it with, “Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.” He knew that from the womb God was with him, no matter how he felt. Later verses reveal that he knew it was his own sin that caused his strife.

We are born of God. We are His workmanship.

Our hearts become wicked and deceitful when we turn from His ways. We were given the propensity to sin when Adam introduced it into the human race. It is not God’s will that we stay in this position. He shows compassion and mercy on those who have strayed from Him.

He rescued us from the dominion of darkness (the sense-ruled world, dominated by the law of performance) and relocated us into the kingdom where the love of his son rules. (Darkness is not a force, it is the absence of light. A darkened understanding veiled the truth of our redeemed design from us. What “empowered” darkness was the lie that we believed about ourselves! The word, exousia, sometimes translated authority, is from ek, origin or source, and eimi, I am. Thus, I was confused about who I am until the day that I heard and understood the grace of God in truth, as in a mirror.) [Colossians 1:13 The Mirror Bible]

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” (Jer 17:9)

The book of Jeremiah is all about people turning from God. They chose to return to worshiping the queen of heaven (Jer 44). Those with wicked hearts in Jer 17:9 are people who have succumbed to the queen of heaven – not humanity in general ….

The sin of Judah is written down with an iron stylus;
With a diamond point it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart
And on the horns of their altars,
As they remember their children,
So they remember their altars and their Asherim
By green trees on the high hills.
(Jer 17:1-2)

The queen of heaven took on the form of Asherim that were sacred green trees and carved images that were worshiped on high hills. (My book explains this in greater detail.)

Our position, where God has placed us, often does not line up with what we think of ourselves.

What is mankind that You are mindful of them, a son of man that You care for him?
You made them a little lower than the angels;
You crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet.
(Hebrews 2:6-8)

This is about every human being.

Including you.

It is satan who tries to convince you that you are no good. Unfortunately, his success leads to hell.

God does not want you to live in hell. So stop camping out on the lies the devil shoots your way, read Scripture with clear eyes, and set your heart on the Lover of your soul.
