Are you contagious?

“Don’t kiss me! I don’t want you to get what I have.”

This warning from my sweet husband got me to thinking. Shouldn’t I be the contagious one? Shouldn’t my health override his sickness?

I’m sure you’ve heard the instruction Jesus gave the twelve, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons.” But Matthew 10:8 ends with, “Freely you received, freely give.” The verse is obviously about how to get people healthy, therefor we can assume that the twelve were freely given their health. So in other words Jesus said,

“I made you healthy, now share your good health with others.”

There are many stories of people who lived like this. Many helped in the midst of plagues with no fear of getting sick themselves.

Not too long ago my grandson was sick with a runny nose, coughing, and the whole mess. I hadn’t seen him in a long time and determined that loving on him would not bring me any harm. I’m happy to report that it didn’t. At the time it hadn’t crossed my mind that my kisses and hugs could be the means of spreading my health to him.

Remember Romans 12:2? “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.0.”

It is time to go against the norm of this world. It is time to renew our minds into believing that in our good health, WE ARE CONTAGIOUS!
