Pentecostal Power
I’m reading Hebrews 10 and wondering how hard it was for messianic believers to have their religious system completely upended. To go from regimented meetings, readings, songs, and prayers to a more carefree way of worship and lifestyle of devotion.
The change was about experiencing the power of God together. Instead of reading about His miracles and power of ancient times, they were to experience it for themselves. Whenever they met, the power of God must have been synergistic – Pentecost is a beautiful example.
It is still supposed to be that way today. I should not experience more of God in my living room than I do in my church. When we believers come together, the power of God should be explosive! Dunamis!
Why have so many places of worship fallen back into regimented worship? How is it that only those who have titles and letters after their names get certain privileges in the church? We are all priests to the living God Almighty and to one another.
The Lord wants us to all minister to each other by:
- Meeting together – Heb 10:25
- Teaching and encouraging each other – 1Ti 4:13
- Prophesying to one another -1 Cor 14
- Taking the Lord’s supper together – 1 Cor 11
- Serving one another – Ga 5:13
- Confessing to each other – Jas 5:16
- Praying for one another – Jas 5:16
- Loving one another – too many verses to list!
Let’s stop acting like we are in the 400 years of God’s silence and start ministering to each other in the authority that Jesus gave each of us. Let’s make room for the Lord to guide our Sunday mornings together where we should not just sing and hear a messages from the same people, but experience love, healing, and miracles.
