Begging for What’s Already Yours
Lord, be with me.
Lord, heal my friend.
Lord, take this heavy burden from me.
Lord, help me financially.
I’ve prayed these prayers and I’m sure you have too. Let’s shift gears….
Imagine always having internal peace.
Imagine being a part of a family that is the wealthiest on earth.
Imagine having free access to the absolute best medical remedies.
Imagine having influence over people that only mean to harm you, your family, and friends.
Imagine a family that no burden could weigh down.
Imagine that everywhere you go, your family is with you – even if you wander they’re still there and you are never alone.
You love your family and they love you deeply.
Every day their deep concern entrenches you. As being such an integral part of this family, your emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing is completely healthy.
Stop thinking this is too good to be true.
Have you surrendered your entire life – everything – to the One who ever-so-carefully formed you in the womb?
When you say yes to the Lord, Jesus becomes your brother, His Father is now yours too, and His beautiful Spirit blends with yours. Now His family is yours and nothing can take those family bonds away from you.
Everything on this earth belongs to the One True God. There is no sickness or injury that He can’t heal. There is no debt that is too large for Him to erase. There is no emotional pain that is beyond His reach. There is nowhere on this earth that He doesn’t exist.
If we have said yes to God but not to His provision, then we’re still unbelieving. If we’re praying those prayers and saying, “If You can do anything, take pity on me and help me!” Then I too must cry out, “Lord! Help my unbelief!” (Mark 9)
Think about the moment Jesus was raised back to life in that dark cave. Can you see the blinding light? Can you feel the energy? Can hear that first breath? That is the greatest power the earth can withstand. There is nothing else that even comes close to it.
Giving your entire life to the Lord invites that very same power to raise you up from a cold, lifeless, and dark place. When you take your first breath – the power of God doesn’t leave. That supernatural power continues to breathe life into you and protects your spirit from ever experiencing death. That power is now yours.
It is through this power that we already have access, as a child, to the Father’s provision. The Lord expects us to cast out the demons who constantly try to camouflage who He is. We are expected to pursue divine health by healing sickness and disease. He expects us to use that dead-raising power to see others who are spiritual or physically dead come back to life!
I’m not supposed to beg God to do anything for me. When I’m anxious, I thank Him for His peace. When my friend is sick, I command that body to be healthy. When I see someone hurting, I put my arm around them and help them sense the Lord’s presence. When work is not paid it’s due, I ask Holy Spirit to show me in the spirit realm what the hinderance is and how to fix it. I fast for the bonds of satan to be broken for those in my family who don’t know Him yet.
We were not created to beg with a little paper cup on a bridge that goes over the Living Water. We are to use weapons of warfare that are divinely powerful.
A final thought. It’s time to put aside the false humility of “its not me, it’s all God.” Like a long coat with a hood, Jesus covers us and guides our every thought and step if we let Him. If it was “all God” then we’d all be doing the same thing and there would be no individual inside the coat. Let’s remember that we are are each a different part of the body. Let’s have thoughts that are inline with the Lord who can perform mighty deeds through us: “It IS me! I do heal the sick. I do operate in the Spirit.” Stop letting the devil steal your identity!
If this is all foriegn to you, then please read God’s biography and learn how to connect with Him every single day.
You can start right now with this…
Close your eyes and ask the Lord to reveal His power that is inside of you. Then keep waiting until He does.
